Classes Offered

ONGOING ZOOM ACTING CLASSES

Tuesdays 7-10 pm PT-taught by Sharon Chatten

Wednesdays noon-3 pm PT-co-taught by Sharon Chatten & Micki Caruso-McGinnis (both present at all classes)

Thursdays noon-3 pm PT-co-taught by Sharon Chatten & Micki Caruso-McGinnis (both present at all classes)

Tuition is $540.00 every 6-week cycle

Ongoing acting classes include scene work from TV, film, and contemporary plays.

Classes are paid in 6-week cycles. These are ongoing classes,  so many actors stay on cycle after cycle as their ongoing class.

CLASS STRUCTURE: Actors get their scene assignment somewhere between 4-7 days before class so they can learn their lines brilliantly, make their choices, and prep their work.Actors DO NOT rehearse together.  Each preps their work and then they put it together in class,  just as you would should you get cast in a role for TV/film and show up on set ready to go. Usually, actors work on the notes given and bring the scene back a second time.  They will be given a new scene every 2 weeks, so each actor will explore 3 scenes per 6-week cycle.  Sometimes actors are working on challenging material and will stay on a scene longer. All actors participate in the work every week. Should your scene partner not be able to attend a class, you will do the scene with another actor as “casting director”, and they will read the other role with you.  This way actors can explore how to audition and self-tape when their partner is absent! All scenes are taped and we email you a copy of your scene every week.  This tape includes all the teacher’s directions and discussions etc so you can review the notes etc.

Micki Caruso-McGinnis will be teaching the in-person class. She is Sharon Chatten’s daughter, has grown up in Sharon’s classes,  and knows the work inside and out. Micki has been co-teaching all of Sharon’s classes with her for the last 6 years, and she will continue to co-teach the day Zoom classes with Sharon. Micki has been an actors manager for the last 15 years and has a very current pulse on the industry from that perspective. That, combined with her many years as Sharon’s protege, will provide an extraordinary opportunity for actors to have her guidance in class.
